Oregon Country Trails

The Oregon Country Trails program helps urban visitors savor the country experience -- while spending their dollars in rural businesses.

The program was founded in 2005 as a rural revitaliation project by Danuta Pfeiffer (Pfieffer Vineyards) and Liz Doyle (Diamond Woods Golf Course).

At first, these two entrepreneuers sought to increase the number of visitors to their Junction City businesses. The idea took hold among other local business owners, however, and soon a grassroots concept was born.

Through a Rural Business Enterprise Grant, Cascade Pacific RC&D helped the program launch the nation’s first rural business collaborative Web site and online shopping cart (oregoncountrytrails.com).

Currently, four Trails represent over 65 businesses in Lane, Lincoln and Benton Counties.
