What we do – Staff – Board

Cascade Pacific Resource, Conservation & Development is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1989 as part of a national network of RC&D Councils to support local communities.

For over 30 years we have been sponsoring and supporting grassroots, community-driven projects and programs in the Willamette Valley and across the state.

Our Mission

To work with people to enhance their communities through social, economic, educational, and environmental improvements

Our Background

Resource Conservation and Development agencies (RC&D’s) were formed by the USDA in the 1960’s to help aid and empower rural communities. Cascade Pacific was one of the first ten RC&D’s in the nation. Oregon eventually had eight RC&D’s, with each one limited at that time to a specific geographic area. Federal funding for RC&D’s was pulled in 2011, making it difficult for many RC&D’s to survive.

CPRCD is one of the few functional RC&D’s remaining in Oregon. Our rich experience in resource conservation allows us to sponsor projects and foster effective, collaborative partnerships. CPRCD is audited annually by a third party to meet federal granting requirements.

CPRCD is guided by its Board of Directors and qualified Staff who are all professionals with a minimum of a four year degree in areas ranging from accounting, financial management, business management, administration, environmental education & outreach, urban and rural planning, and natural resource management fields. The diverse backgrounds and combined years of experience of the CPRCD staff provide partnering client organizations the expertise they need in an efficient and timely manner.
